Struggling with Opioid Addiction? You Don’t Have to Face It Alone

Opioid addiction, also referred to as opioid use disorder, can feel overwhelming, leaving you trapped and powerless against its grip. Prescription opioids like oxycodone and hydrocodone, may have initially provided relief for severe pain or stress, but over time, they can begin to control your life and lead to a risk of use of heroin, or even fentanyl.

Increased use of opiates of any kind can lead to overdose and death. If you’ve found yourself unable to stop or cut back despite harmful consequences, intense cravings, or withdrawal symptoms, know that you don’t have to face this alone. At Clear Behavioral Health, we provide compassionate, expert care to help you overcome opioid addiction and reclaim your life.

Opioid Addiction Treatment at Clear Behavioral Health

Clear Behavioral Health provides comprehensive opioid addiction treatment designed to address the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges of recovery.

Our programs include medically supervised detox, personalized therapy, and ongoing support tailored to meet your needs. Whether you require residential care, outpatient services, or virtual options, we offer a continuum of care to support you on your recovery journey.

Our treatment centers are located in the South Bay of Los Angeles, California, including opioid detox facilities and residential rehab housing. These centers are designed to provide a comfortable and supportive environment as you transition through each phase of recovery.

Initial Opioid Addiction Assessment

When you start your journey with us, our clinical team will conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your symptoms related to opioid addiction.

This process helps us identify the severity of your condition, determine the appropriate level of care, and develop a customized treatment plan focused on guiding you toward healing, self-sufficiency, and long-term recovery.

Our Residential Rehab for Opioid Addiction Treatment

We provide semi-private, cozy rooms, group excursions to help you reconnect with nature, and daily in-house meals made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our residential rehab treatment program is designed to create a supportive and healing environment, giving you the time and space to address your opioid addiction symptoms and take back control of your life.
Throughout your stay, you’ll begin a well-rounded treatment plan that includes individual and group therapy, holistic group therapy, case management, 12-step meetings, and round-the-clock support from our experienced team.

Detox from Opioids Safely

Detoxing from opioids can be challenging and potentially dangerous without medical supervision. Our detox program ensures a safe and monitored withdrawal process, helping to manage symptoms and discomfort effectively with the help of prescribed medicine from our doctor to ease your opioid withdrawal symptoms.

Our detox program is clinically supervised and has on-site nursing staff and regular checkins with a doctor to ensure a more manageable withdrawal from heroin and the associated symptoms

    What is Opioid Addiction?

Opioid addiction is a chronic condition characterized by the compulsive and uncontrollable use of illicit or prescribed opioids despite negative consequences. These substances, often prescribed for pain relief, can lead to physical dependence and addiction when used improperly or for extended periods.

Recreational use has fluctuated but has risen significantly in the past 30 years. Opioids interact with opioid receptors to alleviate pain and anxiety and can include a euphoric feeling when misused (Monwell, 2024).

When addiction develops, the brain and body become reliant on opioids to function, resulting in cravings and withdrawal symptoms when the drug is reduced or stopped.

Substance abuse can shift focus from managing pain to avoiding the debilitating effects of withdrawal. It’s not a sign of weakness or failure—opioid addiction is a complex disorder that requires medical and therapeutic intervention to achieve recovery.

Signs and Symptoms of Opioid Addiction

Early recognition of the signs and symptoms of heroin addiction is crucial for early intervention. Opioid addiction often manifests in several physical, psychological, behavioral, and social changes.

    Some common indicators are:

    • Constricted ‘pinned’ pupils
    • Drowsiness or frequent nodding off
    • Unexplained weight loss
    • Neglected appearance
    • Withdrawing from family and friends
    • Constipation
    • Slurred intelligible speech
    • Incessant scratching

    Other indicators can include:

    • Powder residue on counter tops and/or mirrors
    • Disassembled pens
    • Excessive prescription bottles discarded

    Opioid Dependence

Many people begin taking opiates through a prescription for pain or after surgery, but the use can quickly turn to dependence if you begin to take more of the medication to get the same effect (tolerance).

Missing a dose of opioids will cause extreme withdrawal symptoms. As prescriptions run out, a person struggling with opioid dependence may seek out illegal opioids including pressed pills, heroin, and fentanyl.

A person’s dependence on opiates can affect the person’s ability to be consistent with work, participate in relationships, and meet their other responsibilities.

What to Know About Opioid Withdrawal and Overdose

    Opioid Withdrawal

Due to the discomfort associated with opioid withdrawal, treatment providers may offer medication assisted treatments, which include Vivitrol, Naltrexone, Subuxone, and Buprenorphine.

Naltrexone is used to treat alcohol and opioid use and blocks opioid receptors, and Vivitrol is an injection that releases Naltrexone over the course of a month.

Suboxone and Buprenorphine work similarly to opiates by binding to the brain’s opioid receptors and produces similar effects. It is important to note that Suboxone and Buprenorphine can continue to be addictive.

    Opioid Overdose

Opioids are a central nervous system depressant, meaning they slow down brain activity and reduce nervous system function.

Most illicit opioids are laced with fentanyl, increasing the risk of overdose. Signs of overdose include:

    • Cold, sweaty skin
    • Tremors or shaking
    • Trouble breathing
    • difficulty speaking
    • Unconsciousness

If left untreated with naloxone, which blocks the effects of the opiate, an opioid overdose can lead to death. People at highest risk of overdose are those that have relapsed after some time sober.

The multi-pronged approach; the counselors, individual therapy, nutrition, sympathetic/empathetic counselors of each group session shifted my brain paths. You are never finished there, even when you “graduate”, they hold alumni group sessions when you feel you need it. I have nothing but gratitude for their program.

From the get go, the staff made me feel welcome and were all very friendly. My therapist and case manager were also very helpful and supportive throughout the whole process. I found that the somatic therapy was the most valuable for me, the therapist who ran those groups was great. My biggest takeaway from treatment was to take the time to pause, not be afraid to ask for help, and not worry about things in the moment. If you are looking for meaningful change and being part of a new and supportive community, then Clear Behavioral Health is the right fit.

Overall I loved the experience and did not want to leave. The staff was very helpful and motivated me to stay even when I felt like running away. I also built meaningful connections with my therapist and case manager who gave me a lot of useful advice and are still supporting me today. Since leaving, my family and sponsor have noticed a big difference, and I could not recommend a more supportive environment for addiction and mental health treatment, Clear saved my life.
