Stress Relief Programs in California

Release Your Stress

Stress is a common and natural human reaction to challenging events in our lives. Whether you’re experiencing work burnout, relationship issues, health problems, or financial strain, dealing with stress can feel overwhelming and can affect you mentally and physically.

We have created supportive stress relief programs in California to help you manage your symptoms and provide valuable resources on ways to relieve symptoms from both current stressors and those from stressful events you may have experienced in your past.

Getting Stress Relief with Clear Behavioral Health

At Clear, we approach treating your stress by focusing on you. We base your treatment plan on the specific stress you are facing and create a customized stress relief program to treat your stress symptoms and address the underlying causes of those symptoms.

Our stress relief treatment program is focused on reducing stress in your day-to-day life. We offer stress relief for both adults and teens through our residential, virtual and in-person Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and our in-person Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). We provide these programs conveniently in-network with most insurance providers so you can focus on your treatment.

Our programs are available in our residential and outpatient facilities near you in Los Angeles and Redondo Beach, and in our online treatment option for those looking for a more convenient way to stress less.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) & Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

When you don’t require residential care, or are transitioning from it, or are looking for a more elevated level of care than a weekly therapy session, our PHP and IOP programs offer structured support while allowing you to maintain certain aspects of your daily routine.

Both programs include one-on-one and group therapy sessions with medication management where needed, case management sessions on an individual and group level, and our holistic therapy. Our outpatient treatment programs allow a more flexible schedule to live at home while attending the program during the day or evening and provides a community of mentors, relapse prevention education, personalized assessments, and holistic healing methods, and our PHP and IOP treatments ensure sustainable mind-body wellness.

What to expect with our PHP and IOP programs

Depending on the level of care that best suits your needs, you may begin with our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and transition to the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), or begin directly at the IOP level.

Wherever your journey begins, after completing your treatment, you’ll become part of our supportive alumni community, offering encouragement and inspiration to others on their path to wellness. Our programs are carefully designed to include individual and group therapy, comprehensive case management, holistic treatments, and medication management. This integrated approach ensures a treatment plan that promotes healing at every stage. These programs include:

Individual therapy

Weekly sessions with a therapist to help you explore the underlying causes of your condition, identify your triggers, and develop coping strategies to last a lifetime.

What is Stress?

Stress is our body’s physiological and psychological response to things we are experiencing. When we go through distressing times, we can go into what’s called our activated flight, fight, fawn, or freeze responses. Stress isn’t only being overwhelmed and unable to live in the moment, but can affect us both psychologically and physically.

We aren’t only mentally and physically impacted by stress in the moment, but also stressors from our past. At every level of care, Clear will engage you in different therapeutic techniques and programs specifically to address how stressful events from your past may be impacting you now, how you’re managing stress in the here and now, and give you tools you can use throughout your lifetime.

Stress Signs and Symptoms

You might experience physical, emotional, cognitive, and social stress symptoms.

  • Physical (somatic) symptoms of stress in the body include:
    • Increased heart rate
    • Issues with sleep
    • Feeling fatigued or always tired
    • Headaches or muscle tension in your jaw, shoulders, or back
    • Immune system issues
    • Digestive issues
  • Emotional or behavioral signs and symptoms of stress include:
    • Feeling irritable
    • Feeling anxious
    • Experiencing mood swings
    • Difficulty concentrating
    • Memory problems
    • Self-isolation or withdrawing
  • Cognitive signs of stress can include poor judgment, memory problems, or negative thought patterns like catastrophizing.
  • Social signs of stress manifest in conflicts with our closest relationships, often paired with self-isolation. Diminished productivity can also happen when you feel too overwhelmed with everything – at work, at home, and how you show up for yourself and others.

Types of Stress

We have a great team of experts to help you through your stress. Most types of stress can be characterized into two types of stress:

  • Acute Stress – This type of stress is minimal and usually only lasts a few moments. You can feel acute stress when you have a fight with a loved one, have a close interaction when driving, or are working to reach a deadline. This level of stress is considered normal to the human experience.
  • Chronic Stress – This type of stress is long term and can feel overwhelming or debilitating. Chronic stress can manifest through issues at work, unresolved social relationships, or financial problems. If left untreated, chronic stress can manifest into bigger health issues.

You can also experience stress-related conditions due to environmental factors such as work burnout, or emotional and caregiver burnout with compassion fatigue. Other conditions can include adjustment disorders, or general fatigue. With the help of our treatment programs, we can help you to work through symptoms or conditions.

Your stress might also coincide with other mental health issues such as OCD or anxiety. We have deep experience helping those with co-occurring disorders in our mental health residential and outpatient programs.

If you’re experiencing stress along with substance use disorders such as alcohol or prescription pill addiction, we offer supportive treatment through our dual diagnosis treatment residential and outpatient programs.
