What to expect with our OCD programs
Depending on your needs, your OCD treatment may begin in our inpatient OCD treatment program, our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), or our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). These programs are designed for clients who need an elevated level of care beyond weekly therapy or are transitioning from a hospitalization-level of care, offering structured support that meets your needs.
Our OCD programs include individual and group therapy, case management, holistic treatments, personalized assessments, and medication management when needed. This integrated approach supports sustainable mind-body wellness, and after completing treatment, you will join our alumni community for continued connection and support.

What is obsessive-compulsive disorder?
Not everyone experiences OCD in the same way. While some may be distressed with ruminating intrusive thoughts that cycle repeatedly, others may feel obligated to complete routines or rituals (before, during, or after tasks), or obsess over cleanliness regarding germs and sanitization. Some may have a combination of all these symptoms.
Clear’s expertise is in finding the root of your OCD and isolating the type of OCD (such as contamination and cleanliness, checking, repeating, cycling patterns, obsessing over harmful and sexual thoughts, or avoiding situations, people, or other stimulants that produce obsessions).

Frequently asked questions
Get answers to common questions about OCD treatment.
What does an OCD episode look like?
Depending on the person, OCD episodes can vary in symptoms and severity. Common episodes include fear of germs, behaviors such as checking if the door is locked or the stove is on, perfectionism, intrusive thoughts, and hoarding tendencies.
The physical symptoms can include sweating or an increased heart rate. When you find that these symptoms are interrupting your day-to-day life, our treatment programs are a great option for treating your OCD.
Is it anxiety or OCD?
It can be hard to tell, especially because both involve feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts. Anxiety is usually broader; you might worry about a lot of different things (work, health, relationships) and feel constantly on edge.
OCD, on the other hand, tends to latch onto specific intrusive thoughts that feel sticky and distressing — and you may feel driven to do something (mentally or physically) to make the anxiety go away.
How to start figuring it out:
- Notice the pattern. Are you worrying about many areas of life (more anxiety), or are the thoughts repetitive and focused on one theme (more OCD)?
- Ask yourself: do I feel compelled to do something? If you’re performing rituals, checking, repeating, Googling, or seeking reassurance to calm the thought that leans toward OCD.
- Look at the relief. With OCD, the relief usually comes only after you complete the behavior — and it doesn’t last long.
- Pay attention to how stuck you feel. OCD thoughts often feel intrusive and unwanted, like they pop in against your will.
- Talk to a therapist. A trained clinician can help tease apart the difference and guide you toward the right treatment (the approaches are slightly different, so it matters).
Bottom line: anxiety is worry that spirals; OCD is a loop that demands a response.
How does OCD affect everyday life?
OCD can affect your daily life by disrupting basic daily tasks. Your symptoms may consume your attention and thoughts, making it difficult to focus on tasks, relationships or school and work. These symptoms can lead to a poor quality of life if not treated professionally.
