LGBTQIA+ Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in California

What to Expect in our LGBTQIA+ Virtual IOP
Clear’s Teen IOP is designed to meet teens where they are — offering structured, evidence-based treatment that supports their emotional, social, and academic growth. When a teen needs more support than weekly therapy, our program helps them manage depression, anxiety, and substance use challenges while strengthening family connections, building healthy coping skills, and empowering them to thrive in daily life.
Individual & Family Therapy
Weekly one-on-one sessions give teens a safe space to process their experiences, while monthly family therapy strengthens the entire family system.
Group Therapy
Teens participate in a variety of group sessions, including process groups, expressive arts, communication workshops, emotion regulation education, music therapy, mindfulness, and more.
Family Group Sessions
In therapist-led sessions, teens and parents work together to explore family dynamics. Parents then join a support group of their own to share experiences and gain tools for growth.
Case Management & Counseling
Each teen is paired with a dedicated case manager who provides mentorship and serves as a bridge between the family and care team.
Life Skills & Education
We help teens build everyday life skills through hands-on workshops that strengthen communication, emotional awareness, and self-management.
School Support
We work with your teen to coordinate classwork, communicate with teachers, and ensure they stay on track academically while focusing on healing.

Frequently asked questions
Read through our FAQ for any questions you may have, or give us a call today. We are here to answer your questions and support you or your loved one through their healing journey.
What is queer therapy?
Our queer-affirming therapy is designed to meet the unique experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Our clinicians, many in the community themselves, understand the challenges related to sexual orientation and gender identity and develop personalized treatment plans that address these needs.
How does virtual IOP work?
Virtual IOP offers the same wide range of evidence-based modalities as our in-person programs, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), somatic experiencing, experiential therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and more.
For the program, you receive personalized support from an individual therapist to gain insight into the root cause of your mental health symptoms.
In group sessions, you’ll create meaningful and supportive bonds with others on the healing journey. Ultimately, the program helps you build and strengthen the skills and coping strategies necessary to face and overcome triggers once you return to daily life.
Is therapy and an outpatient program the same thing?
Mental health outpatient treatment includes therapy and much, much more. Clear’s virtual IOP provides a wide range of therapeutic and experiential experiences, including individual therapy, group therapy, and counseling in a supportive online community.
