Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) & Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
If you do not require residential care from your marijuana addiction or are transitioning to a lower level of care, our PHP and IOP programs provide structure, support, and continued therapy while allowing you to maintain a daily routine outside of treatment.
In both of these programs, we develop strategies to help you build healthy coping skills and support long-term sobriety while simultaneously treating anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues that may contribute to your cannabis use. What to Expect with Our PHP and IOP Programs
Clear Behavioral Health believes in comprehensive care, so within our PHP and IOP programs, you will attend various therapeutic groups. The first is individual therapy, where you can find the root of your marijuana dependence and the associated mental health conditions. You will attend group therapy where you can share with others who can relate and offer different insights to your struggles.
Working in family therapy will allow you to create better communication and connection with your family or loved ones and strengthen your personal support system. Additionally, you’ll learn holistic modalities that will help you work on reconnecting your body and mind. If any medication is needed to help manage co-occurring conditions, we have psychiatrists who will assist with this.

Different Types of Marijuana
Marijuana comes in many different forms, including flower, concentrates, and edible food products. These delivery systems can affect the duration, intensity, and potency of their effects:
- Cannabis flower: Most commonly used and known as smoking marijuana, the flowers or buds of the indica, hybrid, or cannabis sativa plant are dried and can be smoked in numerous ways.
- Extracts and Concentrates: The buds, flowers, and at times the entire plant can be processed to extract or concentrate the chemical compounds in marijuana, producing a more potent variation known as wax, oil, vape pen and tincture.
- Edibles: Ground cannabis flowers or concentrates can be mixed with food to create edible marijuana, and their effects last longer than other methods. These products are sold and marketed as chocolate bars, sour candy, baked goods, drinks, and more.
It’s important to know that marijuana continues to get stronger and stronger as time goes on. Higher THC levels present dangerous risk factors, including greening out and cannabis-induced psychosis.
The Development of Marijuana Addiction
When using marijuana initially, it might be out of curiosity or to self-medicate, but you may continue to use the substance as it can bring feelings of calm, or the psychoactive effects might be pleasing. Eventually, it can turn into a substance that is relied on, until you cannot go without it.
Common marijuana addiction looks like consuming marijuana as soon as you wake up, and continuing to use it throughout the day until you go to bed. It can also be problematic when a high volume of marijuana needs to be consumed, indicating a growing tolerance. These examples would be considered heavy marijuana use or addiction.
