Frequently Asked Questions

What is an intensive outpatient mental health treatment program (IOP)?

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Clear Behavioral Health provides structured mental health care while allowing you to continue living at home. Designed as a step up from weekly therapy, our IOP meets 3–5 days per week for 3–6 hours per day, depending on your needs.

You’ll participate in individual and group therapy, case management, and holistic wellness activities, all within a supportive, community-focused environment.

What are the signs that someone needs an IOP?

The best way to determine if you or someone you love needs mental health treatment is if the symptoms of your mental health issues are interfering with your daily life.

Symptoms vary widely depending on the mental health disorder you have, but common symptoms include inability to maintain work, school or relationships and the inability to maintain common life responsibilities.

How long is a typical IOP program?

Our IOP program is designed to fit your life while giving you the support you need to thrive. Most clients attend 3–5 days a week for 3–6 hours a day, and complete the program in 2–4 weeks. We tailor the length to your unique goals, so you get exactly the right level of care to build lasting wellness and confidence.

Is IOP the same as rehab?

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is not the same as residential rehab. IOP provides structured, evidence-based treatment while you continue living at home, making it a flexible step down from inpatient or hospital-level care. It focuses on therapy, case management, and holistic wellness to support recovery without requiring overnight stays.

For those who need more intensive support, we also offer residential rehab programs. Our rehab provides a safe, home-like environment with 24/7 clinical supervision, individualized treatment plans, and holistic therapies to help clients fully focus on recovery.
